The large and complex delivery

We know we do this well. Our people have delivered the UK's largest transformational projects and led many global IT deliveries.

But what makes a delivery large, complex or even impossible?

When we say large, we do mean large. Our people have delivered networks, WiFi and unified communications across 1,000s of businesses across the world. From care homes through banking into pharmacutical and way beyond, we know many industries well and we know each one has it's own unique challenges. 

Our people have also led the technical delivery of government departements, not just a project inside a departement but the entire transformation of them. Every server, every piece of software, every integration, complete software stacks, paper to digital transformation in it's entirity.

The impossible? Servicing airplane engines whilst in flight. Without a manual. At least that's what it felt like! The moving of security inspection on numerous live traffic flows, including financial transactions for the UK's most vulnerable people. At speed. Fighting against the normal constraints of large operational change control, to deliver rapid change and cost reduction. 

How do you get the right people for this?

Our people are not to be found through recruiters but are hand selected to work with us based upon real world experience working alongside our people.

Audit, assist and assure


We don't think businesses do solution assurance well. That can and should be fixed.

In our experience, business assurance of IT solutions is a step that is skipped, has light touch or is completed by people that are not necessarily equipped to perform that function. Often that is not their fault and they are being asked to assure complexity so great that unless they were intimately involved in solution design, an assurance would be worth little. At times we recognise that without a full set of detail, assurance is not actually possible.

We therefore approach things differently. We will not assure a solution unless we feel both equipped and informed enough to do that effectively. 

When we understand your business and your architecture, we can and will support you in times of duress. Only through experience with you do we believe we will we be able to truly help wiith your assurance.

What we will not do is turn up with a ticklist of random questions. That's not helpful.

Quality as a service

Quality is hard, if you are not used to it.
Embedded quality is easy.

Increasing the quality in your IT organisation may seem hard but an external view may surprise you. 

Quality is at the heart of everything we do. Quality may take a touch longer at times to deliver but it fundamentally reduces risk and cost for long term operation. 

In truth, if quality is embedded in the teams at the outset, they operate with it through everything they do. That will take time to do and not everyone will get there. Those that do will be a great asset to your organisation.

To start, we need to assess the work being undertaken across the teams you wish to improve, we can then look at what drives the quality (or not) of the output. Maybe it's not a quality problem but a different influence driving a poor quality output. We'll find that influence.

Resolution may be through training, it may be a case of 'nudging' people to improve, or something else. Situations tend to be unique in this space and often with personal emotions involved.  We therefore engage the right way and test with you our improvement plans and methodology of deploying. This ensures everyone comes along on a journey that fits with everyone's own outlook and desires.

Regardless of the methodology or process used to deliver innovation (yes innovation can be a process), we offer our people to you for that external input.

We can help with independent bid review, a 3rd party opinion on responses submitted, or at interview stage to help you assess companies and capabilities fairly.
